| Tobacco Addiction by Kerry Thackwell |
"I remember asking God to save my life as I was being wheeled into theatre by Paramedics at Harefield Hospital suffering from a heart attack – 30th March 2006. The last thing I recall was asking one of the sea of masked faces looking at me from all angles what would happen to me if I did not sign the form thrust at eye level in front of me. The answer was, 'you will be dead in 20 minutes if you don’t'.
Little did I know
then that the biggest battle I would face lay ahead and would mean
breaking a thirty-four year addiction to tobacco. Tobacco contains the
most poisonous and addictive substances known to mankind and is the
largest killer in society today." |
